Tracking work time in KIOSK

Once identity is confirmed, KIOSK switches to a personal screen: who was recognised, what shift they have today and what they can do right now. The screen times out after a few seconds, so the queue keeps moving and nobody stays signed in after walking away.

Starting a shift

If the shift has not started yet, KIOSK shows its hours and a single main action.

Tapping "Start shift" brings up a confirmation and the device returns to the idle screen.

Important: If your shift only has a set length and no fixed start time, KIOSK will not show a start hour — you will see the target length instead.

Break and ending the shift

During a shift the same screen shows the work timer and tiles with the available actions: paid break, unpaid break, and ending the shift as the main action.

On a tablet the layout is the same, just wider.

When the location has no breaks defined, or the employee has already used them, one action remains — ending the shift.

During a break

While a break is running, the timer counts down to its end and the main action is resuming work.

Remember: Whether a break is paid and whether it counts against work time is set per location — see Recording breaks.

When a read fails

A failed read ends with a short message and a return to the idle screen. Nothing is saved.

What to do in that case is covered in KIOSK doesn't recognise me — what should I do?.
