Planning settings in a location
The "Planning" tab collects the rules by which you lay out the schedule at a given location: the length of the settlement period, when the system should block adding and editing shifts, how to treat breaks and how to lay out contract types on schedule printouts. They make planning faster and consistent with the rules that apply at that site. The settings are available to the Organisation Administrator, Advisor and Location Manager roles.
To open them, go to the "Locations" tab in the top bar, click the pencil icon ("Edit location") in the chosen location's row (or the ⋮ menu), then choose "Planning" from the menu on the left.

All the settings have default values — you can change them to suit the given location.
Basic
The "Basic" section determines how the settlement period is counted at this location.
- "Default settlement period" — choose the length of the period: 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 or 12 months. 1 month by default.
- "Settlement period start month" — point to the month from which the periods start being counted. January by default.
Planning locks
In this section you determine when the system should watch over the schedule's correctness and block changes.
- "Block planning after the end of a contract" — once on, the system will block adding shifts before a contract starts, after it ends, and when an employee has no contract added. An appropriate message appears in the schedule.
- "Time off in lieu" — lets you mark in the schedule the days off due for work on a Saturday, a Sunday or a holiday. Once ticked, you choose alongside which kinds it concerns: "For a Saturday", "For a Sunday" or "For a holiday". The system watches over the number of days due and the deadline for giving them (the end of the settlement period), and a marked day blocks shift planning.
- "Block editing of past schedules" — once on, shifts older than the chosen "Number of days" cannot be added, edited or deleted.
- "Block editing of time entries" — likewise blocks editing time tracking entries older than the chosen "Number of days".

For both editing locks you set the "Number of days" from a list (1, 3, 5, 7, 14, 21, 30). 7 days by default. The number-of-days field becomes active only once the given lock is on.
Breaks
The "Breaks" section decides how the system counts the time of breaks planned in this location's schedule.
- "All breaks are unpaid" — once on, every break planned in the schedule at this location is counted as unpaid.
Schedule export
The "Schedule export" section affects how the pages of schedule and attendance sheet printouts (PDF) are laid out.
- "Split contract types onto separate PDF pages" — once on, employment contracts, mandate contracts and B2B are printed on separate pages of the schedule and the attendance sheet (no contract is treated as a mandate). Off by default — all contract types may be on one page. The setting does not apply to the crew view.

After making changes in any of the sections, click "Save". The "Undo changes" button restores the values from before the edit.
