Deleting a location

When a location is no longer needed, you can delete it from Proplanum. The deletion is permanent and irreversible — it erases the location together with all the data linked to it. Only the Organisation Administrator can perform this action.

Caution: Deleting a location is irreversible. There is no archive and no restore option — a deleted location cannot be recovered. Along with the location, all linked data is erased: work schedules, time tracking entries, location settings, assigned positions and tags.

How to delete a location

  1. From the top toolbar choose the "Locations" tab. You will see the list of locations.
  2. On the location you want to delete, click the icon (three dots) on the right of the row.
  3. From the menu choose "Delete permanently" — it is the last item at the bottom of the menu, marked in red as a destructive action.

  1. The "Confirm location deletion" window appears. Hold down the "Hold to delete" button until the action completes. A short click will not delete the location — that is a safeguard against accidental erasure.

Once finished, the location disappears from the list along with all its data.

When deletion is blocked

You cannot delete a location that is the main location of any employees. Instead of a confirmation window you will then see the message "This location cannot be deleted." with a note that it is the main location of some employees and that they have to be assigned to another location first.

The message blocking deletion of a location

  • Open the employee editor and change their main location to another one.
  • Do this for every employee whose main location is the one being deleted.
  • Once no employee has this location as their main one, the "Delete permanently" action will work.
