Why can I not submit my availability?

Reporting availability (and most often unavailability) lets you show your supervisor when you do or do not want to work before they lay the schedule out. Sometimes, though, it cannot be submitted — below are the three most common reasons and what to do about them.

The company has not given you the permission

Submitting availability is enabled by your company. If you cannot see the "Set availability" button (the Requests tab → "Calendar"), it usually means the option has not been made available to you.

Report it to your supervisor — they or the Organisation Administrator decide who can report availability.

A minimum notice period applies

The company can set how far in advance availability may be reported. If it is set to 7 days, say, you can only submit availability for dates more than 7 days away — the system will not accept anything nearer.

Check the date you are trying to submit availability for. If it falls in the "blocked" period, wait or agree the change directly with your supervisor.

The schedule for that period has already been published

You report availability only for future periods that have not been planned yet. Once your supervisor has published the schedule for a given time, availability can no longer be submitted for it.

Remember: Nor can you submit availability for a date you already have approved leave for. In that case agree any change directly with your supervisor.

How to report availability and unavailability step by step is described in Reporting unavailability.
