The Team module in Proplanum – an overview

The "Team" module is where you manage your workforce in Proplanum. In one place you add employees, give them roles and access, set out their employment terms and manage their status in the organisation. This article shows where the module sits in the company setup and points you to detailed instructions for each task.

Where the Team module fits in the company setup

You build your organisation in Proplanum in three steps. The Team module is the last of them — it is worth preparing the company settings and the locations first, because they feed the employee profiles (locations, positions, tags, request types).

  1. Company settings — the organisation-wide settings and the dictionaries used later in profiles: basic details and global configuration, positions and tags, public holidays and the labour code.
  2. Locations — the sites, departments or lines you assign employees to. See the Locations category and creating and managing locations.
  3. Team — you add users, give them roles, assign locations and positions, and configure their profiles.

Remember: The positions, tags and request types you assign to employees come from the company and location settings. Configure them first so they are available in the dropdowns in the employee profile.

What you will find in the Team module

The module works on two levels: the list of the whole team, from which you manage many people at once, and the profile of a single employee, where you set the details for that one person.

The employee list

When you open the "Team" tab you see the list of employees (the "Employees" header). This is the hub for managing your workforce — you review locations, statuses, positions, roles and employment terms here, filter and search for people, and run both single and bulk actions.

The columns, filters, row actions and bulk actions are described in detail in The employee list – columns, filters and bulk actions.

Employee profiles

Once you pick an employee (the pencil "Edit" icon or "Details" in the menu) you move to their profile. This is where you personalise the settings for that particular person: personal details, access to the schedule and time tracking, working pattern, employment terms, rates and the request types they are entitled to. You will find the instructions in the section on editing profiles in this category.

Where to go next

Important: Employees can be added by the Organisation Administrator, the Advisor and the Location Manager. Importing data from a file is available only to the Organisation Administrator and the Advisor.
