I have a new position — why can’t I see it in the location?

You added a new position but cannot see it in a location's schedule or assign it to employees? That is normal. When you create a position (in Company settings or from another location), it goes to the whole organisation, but in the remaining locations it stays hidden until you turn it on yourself. One setting is enough.

Turning position visibility on

You control a position's visibility on the "Positions and tags" tab of the given location.

  1. Go to the "Locations" tab in the top bar.
  2. On the chosen location click the pencil icon ("Edit location") in the row (or the ⋮ menu).
  3. From the menu on the left choose the "Positions and tags" tab.

  1. Find your position in the list and turn on the switch next to it in the "Visibility" column.

  1. Click "Save" in the action bar — it appears only once you have unsaved changes.

Important: Until you save the changes, the position will not be available to assign to employees or visible in that location's schedule.

Why it works this way

Positions are shared across the whole organisation. Once a new position is created, the system adds it to every location, but sets it as visible only in the one you are currently working in. In the others the "Visibility" switch is off — and that is why the position "disappears" in a given location.

Remember: The full description of the "Billable", "Default" and "Visibility" columns, and of adding positions and tags, is in Managing positions and tags in locations.
