Can a Manager approve employees’ requests?

By default no — a Manager sees their team's requests but does not review them. The permission can, however, be granted by turning on the relevant option in the location settings. The setting works separately for each location.

Default behaviour

Without extra configuration, employees' leave requests go to the Location Manager, and if there is none, to the Organisation Administrator or the Advisor.

A Manager sees their team's requests but does not review them — they submit only their own.

How to let a Manager handle requests

The permission is granted by the Organisation Administrator, the Advisor or the Location Manager:

  • go to the location settings, the "General" tab, the "Requests" section
  • tick the "Manager can manage requests" option

The setting is separate for each location — turn it on where it should apply.

Important: the configuration details are in General location settings.

What changes once it is on

Once the option is ticked, a Manager can approve, reject and submit leave requests on behalf of the employees at their location.

Caution: Even with the option on, a Manager does not review another Manager's request.
