Breaks at work
During a shift you can take a break and record it in Proplanum — that way your working time is counted correctly and your supervisor sees when you are resting. You start and end a break in the mobile app or at a KIOSK terminal.
The kinds of break
In Proplanum a break can be paid or unpaid — which one you record is decided by your supervisor in the location settings. You will come across two kinds:
- A planned break — your supervisor has set it in the schedule for a particular time.
- An unplanned break — a break with no set time, which you take when it suits you.
Taking a break in the mobile app
You record the break on the main dashboard, where your working time is shown.
- Log in to the Proplanum mobile app — on the dashboard you will see your working time counting up and a marker for the next planned break.

- On the shift tile pick "Break".
- The "Shift actions" sheet will open with the breaks available. Next to the kind you want, tap "Start" — beside the name you can see the limit, for example 30 min or "No limit". An unpaid break appears only when your supervisor has enabled it in the location.

- A message about the break starting will appear and the clock will begin counting it. Now you have a moment to rest.
- After the break go back to the app and end the break in the same "Shift actions" sheet.

- A message about the break ending will appear and the clock will start counting your shift time again.

Taking a break at a KIOSK terminal
If you track time at a KIOSK terminal, you start and end a break exactly as you clock in.
- Go up to the terminal and confirm your identity — with a fingerprint, a card, a QR code or a PIN.
- On the actions screen pick the "Paid break" or "Unpaid break" tile.

- After the break confirm your identity again and pick "Resume work".
