# Why can I not stop the clock in the app?

If the mobile app shows a running shift or break but you cannot stop it or record a break, it usually means your company **has not turned time tracking on in the app**. Below we explain what that means and where you clock in and out in that case.

# What you see in the app

When the company does not use time tracking in the app, your phone only gives you a **view** of the current work or break. You will see that the shift is running, but the **"Start"** and **"Stop"** buttons are inactive and you cannot record a break there.

That behaviour is correct — it is not a fault in the app.

# Where you track working time

In that configuration you carry out every action — starting and finishing the shift and the breaks — **only in Proplanum KIOSK**. You log in there with a **PIN** or a **QR code**.

* You will find your **PIN** in your profile, in the **"Personal information"** tab, in the **"KIOSK PIN"** field.
* You get the **QR code** from the menu under your avatar (bottom left corner) → **"My QR code"**.

|| Remember: How you track working time is decided by your employer. How clocking shifts and breaks at the terminal works is described in [RCP System](https://help.proplanum.com/en/category/rcp-system-14c0tsh/) and [Starting and finishing a shift](https://help.proplanum.com/en/article/starting-and-finishing-a-shift-f8g02e/).

# What to do if something is missing

If you have no access to a KIOSK, do not know your PIN or something does not add up, get in touch with your supervisor — how time is tracked at the company is set on their side.

||| Caution: Do not try to "work around" the missing Start/Stop button in the app. Time recorded at the KIOSK goes into your records automatically — you can check it in the **Records** tab.
