# Who can add sick leave requests?

A sick note is a document confirming an inability to work. In Proplanum you create it as your own request type, matched to the nature of illness — no day limit, no approval and with the option of attaching a scan. Here we show who can add sick leave and how to configure such a request.

# Who can add sick leave requests

| Important: A sick leave request can be submitted by every role **except an Advisor**. A new "sick leave" request type, however, is created only by the **Organisation Administrator**.

# Creating a sick leave request type

1. Go to **Company settings → "Requests"** and click **"Add request"**.
2. As the type choose **"Other"**.

3. Enter a name (for example **Sick leave**) and an abbreviation, then set the options typical for sick leave:

* **Allow adding an attachment** — tick this so the employee can attach a scan of the note.
* **Leave requires approval** — leave unticked; sick notes apply regardless and are not rejected.
* **Limited** — leave unticked; the number of sick days is unlimited.

4. Click **"Save"**.
