# KIOSK doesn't recognise me — what should I do?

If KIOSK shows "Not recognised" and returns to the idle screen, nothing was saved — you can simply try again straight away. Below are the most common causes and what to do about each.

# The fingerprint doesn't work

* **The fingerprint was never enrolled.** Check in the admin panel whether your account shows **"Enrolled"**. If not, ask your manager to enrol it — see [Enrolling a fingerprint](https://help.proplanum.com/en/article/enrolling-a-fingerprint-azprqd/).
* **Poor read.** Dry your finger and place it flat, using the centre of the fingertip. KIOSK itself hints at what to fix.

# The card doesn't work

* **The card is not assigned.** Speak to your manager — they will assign it on the terminal, see [Assigning contactless cards](https://help.proplanum.com/en/article/assigning-contactless-cards-103nago/).
* **The card was deactivated.** That happens automatically when a newer card is issued to you. Use the new one.

# The reader is disconnected

If a reader has dropped out, KIOSK says so plainly and suggests using a QR code or a PIN. It is a temporary situation — report it to your manager, but clock in with the fallback method so the entry is not lost.

# The PIN and QR code always work

A PIN and a QR code need no reader at all. Both live in your profile in the mobile app — the QR code under **"Show code"**, the PIN in your personal details.

| Important: If you still could not clock in, do not leave it unreported — your manager can add the entry from the work time records.
