# Can I delete a position that is assigned to employees?

Yes, you can delete a position at any time — including when employees are using it. Before you do, though, check how many employees the change affects, so you do not leave gaps in the schedules.

# How to check how many employees hold the position

In the **Positions and tags** tab the positions table has a **People** column. The counter in that column shows how many employees currently hold a given position.

# How to delete a position

1. Go to the **Positions and tags** tab.
2. Find the position on the list (you can use the search box or the location filter).
3. In the position's row click the **⋮** icon and choose **Delete**.
4. Confirm the operation in the confirmation window.

||| Deleting a position will affect the employees and the schedules it was used in. If the **People** counter is greater than zero, make sure first that deleting it will not leave gaps in the planning.
